Yeah It's Tuesday

Normally Tuesday doesn’t illicit such a happy response from me but any day after the Monday I had I’m really glad it’s a new day. It was so bad I couldn’t even conjure up the energy to blog. So we’ll be doing the Mantra a bit later today.

The day started off as crappy as any other Monday, got up way too early, made my way to gym. At gym, worked out a bit, watched some E! and then tried to think of ways of avoid work.

Work is a whole other story but basically the fact that I didn’t murder any of my coworkers is a miracle. When I finally managed to leave, all I wanted to do was change into my comfy clothes, watch trashy TV and eat bad food. As I’m still on my last day of detoxing I didn’t have the bad food. Or in fact do any of the other stuff. I got a call from Dexter who’s in town for work and instead got all dolled up and met him at his hotel for a drink.

Spending a couple of hours with a bestie who shares your weird sense of humour is enough to make any Monday fabulous. Major snaps for Dexter.

Just like that my week has turned around. And it’s going to get even better. It’s almost lunchtime and have a great meal prepared. Also we’re having massages at work and I’m in the next spot.

Hope you’re in a happy place.

Stuff...

Stuff I wonder…

…is it wrong to want to find a guy who can whistle the Young Folks tune?

…what did I do wrong for my pretty pink and purple umbrella to break?

…why the YDE staff have so much attitude and yet the Accessorize staff need some. It was like being served by a Debbie Downer when I went to purchase a replacement for said broken umbrella.

…where has all my money gone? Especially around the time of the 70% off sales.

Stuff I’m happy about…

…I haven’t been late for work all week.

…it’s almost time for Fashion Week.

Hot Mama is coming back to work in September.

…Dexter is coming tomorrow and Smokey Eyes next week.

Stuff I need to improve…

…my gym attendance.

…my concentration levels at work. I spend most of my day grimacing over my split ends.

…the state of my bedroom. It’s seriously messy.

…holding a grudge. I need to let go of things.

Fashion, Fromage and Friday

Is everyone as happy as I am it's Friday? I am in an utter state of bliss mostly because this weekend I will be doing nothing except lounging around with a facemask on.

I might also go out for breakfast because I have been craving an omelette like you wouldn't believe. Only problem is I really cannot make one. So I'm going to find a place that makes one with feta and bacon. Does anyone remember that episode of Dexter's Laboratory where he had to study for his French exam. Dexter decided to play a record with his French notes, unfortunately the record got stuck on the French for cheese omelette, which is omelette du fromage. Luckily for Dexter, his exam in the end only consisted of this information.

I want to share a hilarious email a friend of mine sent me the other day. Because of our shared love for omelette du fromage I'll call him Dexter. So Dexter lives in Joburg and this past weekend he went to Nelspruit. Although I have heard of it, I'm not too sure where it is in relation to Joburg. Now Dexter knows how much I love fashion and more importantly he knows how much I love fashion disasters. So when he saw a couple with mullets he had to email me.

To: Green Eyes
From: Dexter
Subject: Nelspruit Fashion

I was in Nelspruit this weekend and as a result my eyes are now permanently damaged. Mostly because I had to close my eyes so often with regards to what people were wearing. Saying that, about 90% of the women in this town were sporting D&G sunglasses. The little street vendor at the 2nd stop street when you first enter the town is very popular.

While it was high fashion at the Durban July (Skinny Bitches note - for those not from SA, fancy horse race with more attention on the clothes than the actual race) Nelspruit is like the older, overweight sister who comes from a different dad. My favourite couple had matching mullets and amazing outfits. The guy was wearing a sweater vest decorated in colourful Dobermans. I kid you not. I tried to take a picture but it came out blurry. I had to hurry before they noticed me and hypnotised me with their outfits. Unfortunately it did not come out well.

PS. I'm pretty sure the ladies' scarf had the Thundercats on it.

Have a great weekend!
