Monday's Mantra

This week is
all about being resourceful…now where did I hide those 5 cent pieces.
I believe a weekend away with the girls is exactly what we needed.
I’m addicted to Fringe.
I wish it was payday.
I’m jealous of people who can work from home during rainy days like today.

Wow, has this been a long and busy week. Luckily today is Friday and Skinny Bitches couldn't be more happier.

We're about to embark on a Girls Weekend to Napier. We leave later this afternoon and I have a feeling it's gonna be awesome!

Hope you guys have some exciting weekend plans.

Have a good one!

Monday's Mantra

This week will end in Girls Weekend Away!
I believe in change.
I’m addicted to Lost Season Six. It’s awesome!
I wish I had some spare change in my purse
I’m jealous of Cheryl Cole (not so much her marriage problems but definitely her clothes).

I'm Thinking About...

...if I meet Gordon Ramsay, I will tell him I love him and then ask him to use the F word repeatedly. It sounds so much sexier coming from him.

...I have a list of coworkers who bug me incessantly. And yet I have not sworn, shouted or thrown my printer at them. I have amazing restraint ;)

...If I had to have plastic surgery to look like any celeb, I’d either go for Rachel McAdams or Cheryl Cole. To me, they are beyond words pretty.

...I need to buy the Big Issue every month. It’s the little things that count.

...My new shoes are tres sexy secretary.

...Crazy good looking men (like models) make me so nervous I cannot stop talking. Worse I speak really loud and don’t make sense.

...Olivia Palermo is my new style icon.

...Massages are awesome. Having massages at work are friggin’ awesome.

Things That I ♥

Coffee

In the past couple of weeks, my love for coffee has turned into a full-on addiction. I have to make daily trips to Vida to get my latte fix. And that’s right I’m buying fancy coffee. My addiction is not only expensive it is also proud. No instant for me. After my second take away today I decided to put a spending ban on my wallet. Except me to look like one of the zombies from Shaun of the Dead without my caffeine fix.

The Beatles Songs

I’ve been playing Across the Universe soundtrack on repeat. I absolutely love the movie and anytime I hear the Beatles I smile. I’ve also discovered Rufus Wainwright’s version of the song Across the Universe and I have fallen in love with it.

The Easter Season

Finally a reason to enjoy chocolate without the guilt. My dietician is surprisingly not such a big fan. But I drown her out with some more chocolate.

Four Day Weeks

This is our second of three four day working weeks in SA. It’s bliss. Nothing gets you out of bed quicker than the thought that tomorrow is the last day before a four day weekend. I cannot wait!

Receiving Packages

I love getting mail. I hate when said mail is bills or junk though. I’m happy when it’s Pushplay with our new dvds and I’m even happier when it’s a package! Last week I received my dress from Africhic.com and today I received a fabulous Essie nail polish from the Bronx Ladies Footwear team. It’s a beautiful purple colour and it’s called Footloose. Considering I’m a huge fan of the movie and the song, I was over the moon. Will definitely be doing a mani this weekend.

Weekend Highlights

The weekend started off on a fabulous note on Friday. It was one of our very special friend’s birthday and we joined her at Tiki Bar at Eden on the Bay for some cocktails.
Had some amazing cosmopolitans at that place. Nice casual vibe and right on the beach. Definitely would recommend. The lighting and light rain also gave it a nice touch!

On Saturday, I decided it was time to finally try out TRUTH in Green Point. I have heard so many fabulous things about the place and decided had to see what all the hype was about. TRUTH is located in the Prestwich Memorial off Somerset Road in Green Point. It’s not too big but has all the essentials for an awesome coffee shop. I had some great service, an excellent latte and a new spot to take friends too.

Afterwards I made a quick stop at the Friends with Jenny Open Day. I bought a great brown waist belt and a fab winter shrug. I cannot even tell you about it the shrug, it is so beautiful and versatile. Will definitely have to take pics and show you what it looks like and how it can be worn. Also don’t forget to check out FWJ’s new website. It’s great!

I’m not sure what came over me but on Sunday I offered to make lunch for my (large) family. I blame it on Julie & Julia. It made me think I could bring out my inner Nigella and cook. The main problem is my mom. She used to be a caterer, she can cook backwards and usually she prepares those amazing meals for Sunday lunch. My speciality is potato bake and those convenience meals from Woolworths.

In the end I opted for some chicken – ‘cause no one can mess up chicken – and then some pasta (a sweet potato and butternut lasagna). The pasta turned out really good, or my family are really nice at not hurting my feelings. Dessert was supplied by my mom because there was only so much I could accomplish. She made some great cupcakes and it’s even greater that she left the rest with me!

So, how was your weekend?

Monday's Mantra

This
is a four day working week!
I believe in the Easter Bunny.

Photo Recap

It’s been forever since I actually blogged. Definitely not enjoying all this work, especially ‘cause it keeps me from the blogs and twitter. I’ve definitely missed reading your blogs and commenting.

Since I still have work piling up, I don’t really have time for a long post. What I can do is recap the past week. It’s been pretty amazing and what better way to do so than with the help of pictures.

Enjoy!

And have a lovely Wednesday!

Kelly Clarkson

As already mentioned the concert was pretty awesome. If you were a girl and showed up with a guy, he’d have either been gay, closeted or whipped. We choose our gays.

Here are some pics from Kelly. They’re not really good quality mostly ‘cause we were dancing and singing along too much but you can kinda make out it’s her.

St Patrick’s Day

Considering one half of Skinny Bitches is part Irish, we had to celebrate. So after the concert we headed to The Dubliner to celebrate. Single ladies, there have never been this many good looking guys in one room before. Wow! We didn’t know where to look. The place was packed though and as it was a school night we left after 1. Not sure how but I made it to gym the next morning. After that I was pretty fragile.

The Vibe Party

Thanks to our awesome friends The Wedding DJs, we were on the guest list for the 2oceansvibe party in Camps Bay. It was pretty awesome. Here’s Seth doing some Celine Dion. Blue Eyes was in heaven. I was in a not-as-happy place 

Here’s the boys doing their thing.

Africhic Package

I was invited to the Africhic.com launch a while ago. It was lovely and I love the idea of buying clothes online. I decided to make my first purchase last week and I choose this dress by Michelle Ludek:

Yesterday it arrived. Am loving the packaging.

As soon as I have somewhere amazing to wear it too, I’ll take some pictures.
If you can, visit the site here. They have free delivery in SA and great service.

SA Flag Mirror Caps

I’ve seen these around on Minis everywhere and always wanted a pair. Then I found out, you didn’t need a Mini or had to pay for them. It’s a great (and free) initiative. Mini SA helped me out via Twitter and this morning I went to collect my pair. I ♥ them!
