Januworry

So my Facebook timeline is currently filled with people complaining about having crackers and cheese for lunch and being dead broke. Normally I’d join. But considering I’m usually broke the day after my salary is deposited and all those debit orders go off my bank account I’m used to this feeling.

What I don’t like about January is that this has been such a crappy month. Never mind the laughable bank account I have been messed around by a boy, broke down with my own car, got into an accident with my brother’s car and been very sick. So apart from my birthday which was awesome, this month has been kinda shitty.

Now I’ve always been a fan of a good rant and moaning session but this time I’m taking the more grown-up route. Besides I cried enough when I was stuck on the side of the road waiting for my dad and the tow-truck. Considering I can’t do anything about all those crappy things I’m looking to the future and as it’s the last week of January, it’s already looking better. Also I’ll be getting paid soon so I can buy some more shoes, which always helps.

So join me as I bid adieu to January. See ya Bitch!

This Year...

...I'm trying to be positive and not complain as much. So as much as I'd like to go on about my horrible skin, hair that doesn't seem to do much despite spending all my money on Redken and constantly having moolah troubles I've decided to rather do things that bring a smile to my face.

So last night I popped in some old Sex and the City, got some frozen yoghurt from Myƶg and went to a happy place. Sometimes it can make a world of difference.

Eeeeekkkk...

I've just turned 25.

The bad bits:
It's freakin' me out. Suddenly it dawned on me that in another five years I'll be 30.
According to Facebook, I in the minority when it comes to husbands and babies.
It feels like I haven't done anything substantial with my life.
I'm so old.

The good bits:
I've had a fabulous day so far and it's only lunchtime.
I've been spoilt rotten by family, friends and my work peeps.
The year is just begun and I can feel it's going to be a good one.

Merry Christmas

Last day of work and Christmas Eve Eve, means I'll be logging off for a while.
If you're celebrating Christmas, hope you have a merry one filled with family, good food and lots of cheer. If not, hope you're just enjoying the season.

Merry Christmas!

My Christmas Wishlist Part Five

My Christmas Wishlist – It’s like Oprah’s Favourite Things. Except there are no freebies under your seat, no screaming middle-age women and no one shouting “You get a car! You get a car!”

Dear Santa

If you fail on all the other stuff, please please work on this one.

Much love

My Christmas Wishlist Part Four

My Christmas Wishlist – It’s like Oprah’s Favourite Things. Except there are no freebies under your seat, no screaming middle-age women and no one shouting “You get a car! You get a car!”

I can try and think of ways to motivate why underwear is on my wishlist. But I realised I don't have to. For those not keen on the commando vibe, it's a necessity. If you are blessed on the upper body, you definitely need some good support. And if you're into pretty things then you have all the motivation you need.

Although there's not a permanent fixture warming up the other side of my bed I still believe in buying sexy knickers. Matching items also make insanely happy. I think that's the great thing about underwear; wearing some pretty pieces can make you feel instantly better. And if you have someone to stare in awe (like only boys can do) it's just an added bonus.

Santa, please make your way to Edgars or Stuttafords and pick me up some After Eden lovelies. I want to feel sexy and make boys gape. To help you out I've picked out my absolute favourites.
Thanks buddy! Owe you one.

My Christmas Wishlist Part Three

My Christmas Wishlist – It’s like Oprah’s Favourite Things. Except there are no freebies under your seat, no screaming middle-age women and no one shouting “You get a car! You get a car!”

As I've mentioned several times I am a beauty product slore. There's just something about bathing in nice-smelling things and then drenching your skin in body butter. I've yet to meet boys who enjoy this as much as I do so I'm guessing it's a girl thing.

The best part for me has to be the smell of a product. Vanilla reminds me of happy times; fruits and cocoa butter are the stuff summers are made of; and the festive season is all about cranberry. I recently wrote about a range I was lucky enough to try out here and now I've had a little look over the rest of their products.

Oh Santa Baby, won't you please put this Cupcake Frosting Body Butter into my stocking. It will make me smell nice and I'm sure once I do, boys will like me.

My Christmas Wishlist Part Two

My Christmas Wishlist – It’s like Oprah’s Favourite Things. Except there are no freebies under your seat, no screaming middle-age women and no one shouting “You get a car! You get a car!”

Zando is a new online shopping portal launching in February 2012. Until then, they've been teasing us with shoe porn. There are a whole lot of pretty shoes in their photo gallery but for some reason I cannot stop lusting after this pair.

I used to have a big aversion to animal print. That was until I learnt in small doses it can be sexy and spice up an outfit. These shoes are just the right amount and have a bold heel. You know those will be perfect for dancing.

So Santa, if you're listening I haven't been all that good but I promise to do better next year.

My Christmas Wishlist Part One

My Christmas Wishlist – It’s like Oprah’s Favourite Things. Except there are no freebies under your seat, no screaming middle-age women and no one shouting “You get a car! You get a car!”

Shapewear has become as important in my life as my nightly eye cream routine. And if you're over the age of 18 and have not invested in an eye cream, then we need to talk. Well you need to listen because you're about to get schooled.

Seriously though, I cannot think of a time when I didn't need my magic knickers. And I've found that it's not just girls shaped like me (with a few more bumps and curves than Kate Moss) that are wearing them. Not only do they suck everything in; they give your outfit that smooth, contoured look. The only problem I've ever had with them, they're very unattractive. Previously I thought that the special material that works so well may be the reason these knickers are so uggo. And if they're doing their job then that doesn't matter. And just pray you don't forget about them and have a Bridget Jones moment. That's what I used to think. Then I discovered Maidenform.

This range is getting rid of all preconceived notions that shapewear has to be ugly, beige and uncomfortable. Instead they're comfy, sexy and come in many styles and colours. And best news ever, they're available in South Africa. You can get some at Stuttafords or Edgars.
