Dear Future Boyfriend, Part Two

You know more guidelines and advice for that lucky (?) guy.

*I heart Bradley Cooper. So if you are not him, you’ll have to deal with me talking about him. You see, I’ve been undertaking some charity work in order to provide me with good karma for the rest of my life. Well sort of. I really want to do charity work but I’m like crazy busy and there never seems enough time. But I intend to do something because by some twist of fate (karma that’s you) I’d really like it for you FB to either be Bradley Cooper or at least resemble him. See I have had this thing about him for ages. Ever since he first appeared in Sex & The City, then Kitchen Confidential then even as the douche in Wedding Crashers. For some reason I cannot look away and the obsession’s starting to get bad. I’ve started to think of the many ways we’d meet and fall in love and how I’d handle the press intrusion into our lives and what to do if our sex tape ever got leaked (which wouldn’t be the dirty kind by the way, more a video of me eating cheese and filming Bradley while he sleeps). So shit is bound to get weird and I’d just like to prepare you for it.

*In that great tradition of double-standards, my shit can be weird but I’d prefer if there are things you didn’t do. If you tend to eat chocolate cereal and just love when the milk turns all brown and tastes delish, please use your spoon to drink it and not go directly for the bowl. If you say shit like “catch you on the flip side” or pronounce croissant with a French accent even though you’re not French, it’s over. If you listen to Nickelback, haven’t watched 30 Rock or wear a peak cap backwards, it’s okay. Not everyone is perfect. But if you do all three, see ya!

*You have to like my gays. Unfortunately and fortunately I seem to attract the homosexuals. I think it’s my extreme penchant for ABBA, musicals and cocktails with dirty names. Instead of a moth I’m a disco ball and instead of a flame, they’re flaming queens. I don’t usually complain about my gays but it is discerning to note that most of my BBM contacts have Lady Gaga as their profile pictures. But they’re an important part of my life and I’ll need you to accept them. You don’t need to love them because then I’ll worry that I’ve turned another one but you do need to like them. Or at least pretend you do.

End of the Week Notes

*My new favourite show is Modern Family. It’s the perfect fill-in while I wait for the new seasons of 30 Rock and Glee. My favourite characters are Cam and Manny.

*Starting the day with a bacon and cheese crossiant from Jardine Bakery is awesome. My brother and I headed over for an early breakfast. They also serve Deluxe coffee which I love so it was a double score.

*It’s Blue Eyes’ birthday today. Happy Birthday to an awesome roomie and friend!

*This picture from The Sartorialist makes me want to buy lots of dresses and count down the days to summer.

*Peanut butter on toast is the bomb diggidy and my new favourite snack.

*Have found the motivation for gym. Stop going for four months and discover that you’ve gone from an hourglass figure to a blob. Then look at yourself in the mirror. Result? I’ve been to gym all week.

*Alphabeat is the happiest music you’ll ever hear. It’s even happier than ABBA.

Have a fabulous weekend bitches!

I'm The Type of Girl...

…that thinks people have just got the title wrong when discussing the film “Sunshine”. In my head they’re talking about “Little Miss Sunshine”. It makes for very confusing movie reviews.

…when spelling things on the phone, says “A for ABBA”.

…that loves it when purchases are wrapped in tissue paper.

…that judges people over the age of 25 saying “My bad”.

…who will never walk under a ladder.

…that gets a thrill out of wearing red shoes.

…that makes wishes at 11:11.

…that will obsess over any nice gesture a guy does for or towards me. Mixed messages are the reason I am crazy.

…that believes in the Loch Ness monster.

…who gets goosebumps when someone cracks their knuckles.

…who counts going into the gym to pay your monthly fees counts as cardio.

…that believes most problems can be solved with a latte.

Beautiful Blogger Award

Skinny Bitches were tagged by Miss E over at Little Lady for the Beautiful Blogger award.

What a great way to start a Monday! Thanks E. You is awesome!

Make sure you go and visit her blog for some doses of loveliness.

Now the criteria of the award is that we thank the giver and link back to her blog (as above) and then we list seven interesting things about ourselves.

Here goes:

1. Nothing gets me more motivated for gym than listening to ABBA on the way there.

2. My favourite episode of Friends is the one where the girls lose their apartment to the guys through Ross' trivia game.

3. I have learnt to bite my tongue and not let every little thing get to me. But it is an ongoing struggle.

4. I love love love Oreo McFlurrys.

5. It's one of my (more superficial) dreams to be on The Sartorialist.

6. I'm terrible with money.

7. I have always loved makeup but now I'm learning how to apply it properly. And I'm not sure how I survived without MAC.

An Open Letter...(Musical Addition)

To the people involved in the Fame remake. I absolutely loved the original. It was gritty, it was real and it still had dancing. Any movie with any type of dance sequence is automatically placed in my Top 100. I saw the trailer for the new version and felt a bit queasy. Were they going to take my beloved Bruno, Coco and Leroy and turn it into High School Musical. (Ps. I heart HSM. I just didn’t want Fame to become a carbon copy). Skinny Bitches went to see the movie last night and I can report back that we are okay with it. It wasn’t HSM but it wasn’t Fame either. Yeah for Debbie Allen. Yeah for Karen from Will & Grace. And a big yeah for the hot boys. Much needed. But what happened to the street dancing? Leg warmers and my absolute favourite part of the original, when the graduating class sing The Body Electric. Also you can lose the Jenny character. Can you say bugging. A good movie but missing some crucial bits. If remakes continue like this what is going to happen to my adored Footloose.

To the people who wrote You Can’t Stop The Beat. Thanks for making the happiest song ever. Yes it’s totally cheesy and I’ll never know all the words. But whenever I hear it I smile and have to dance. Kudos.

To the Hollywood executives. Please whatever other remakes you do, do not touch Sound of Music. For me there will be no other Maria, no other Captain Von Trapp and definitely no other Liezel and the Nazi in the gazebo. If you must and I mean absolutely must remake it, will you please keep the Lonely Goat Herd sequence. Everyone loves singing puppets.

To the Mamma Mia! peeps. I am still not happy about James Bond singing ABBA songs. But I have learnt to deal. I am unhappy about you guys leaving out The Name of the Game and Under Attack. And I do believe there were much more shirtless hotties in the stage production. Not sure if you can bring out a re-mastered version but see what you can do.

To Hans Christian Anderson. Thanks. If you hadn’t written the Little Mermaid and if Disney hadn’t stolen it, I would never have heard the song Kiss The Girl. I can still watch it now and suddenly am feeling like my younger self. Happy. In love with Prince Eric. And totally dreaming to become a mermaid when I grow up.

My Secret

I am a huge fan of Postsecret. Every Sunday, I am log on to read the secrets. There are the ones that make me laugh. The ones that make me think. The ones that my heart truly sore. And then there are the weird sexual ones that make me make a face like Jim from The Office.

And the most bittersweet thing about it all, is that I can identify with so many secrets.

There are secrets like this that I don't mind identifying with:

Cos I always make a wish at 11:11.

Then there are secrets that I sometimes wonder I wrote while I was drunk and mailed them, and them promptly forgot about them:

Some secrets make me go awww:

And some give me an excuse to talk about my choice in music:

How true is the last secret for almost anyone. I have constantly though my ipod holds the holy grail to the music world in terms of 80s music, madonna, and soundtracks that it. I also think my mixes of "Road Music" volumes 1-5 deserve accolades and my Chillin' mix creates the perfect seduction soundtrack. With all my (what I think is) good music comes all the bad. The songs I delete before I let anyone else near my ipod. My bad choices include The Sound of Music, The Lion King, Paula Abdul, The Little Mermaid, Olivia Newton John, Rick Astley and Golden Girls theme song.
These are all my guilty pleasure songs. I'd love to know that I'm not alone in these choices. Please let us skinny bitches know what your guilty pleasure ipod song is.
And then pray this doesn't happen to you:
